Our team at LC Myers Environmental has extensive experience in dealing with mold, and we can help you deal with any mold issues affecting your home or business. If you suspect you have a mold problem, we encourage you to give us a call to have our experts inspect your property—then, if we do find mold, we can take care of mold remediation as well. In this article, we will go over what to expect from the mold remediation process.

- Preparation – The mold remediation process starts with preparation. Our team will get your home ready by sealing off the areas where mold is present using plastic sheeting. This will help prevent mold spores from spreading into unaffected parts of the building as we work to remove mold damaged materials.
- Removal – As we alluded to in the previous step, the next stage of mold remediation involves removing materials that are too damaged by mold to be saved. Certain materials, such as carpet, cannot be effectively treated in a way that kills 100% of mold spores, so they need to be removed altogether to prevent the mold from coming back. Other, less porous materials do not need to be removed because mold can be removed from the surface using cleaning agents.
- Cleaning – The next step in mold remediation is cleaning the remaining materials in the area to get rid of mold on the surface. First, our team will apply a biocide to the mold, which will render the spores incapable of reproducing. Next, we will physically clean the area to remove the mold spores.
